Scope of the Scholarship

Three scholarships are awarded every year in order to foster and encourage training in Plastic Surgery across Europe. These Scholarships provide a one or three month experience to be spent in a European department of plastic surgery, or in a centre run by a EURAPS active member, included in the list of Institutions.

Eligibility

Candidates must be European citizens (Eastern European Countries included) and are in a registered European Plastic Surgery training program. The maximum age is 35 years. Evidence should be provided

Application

The following documents must be sent to euraps@eurotraining.it before December 1st, each year:

  1. Letter written by the candidate indicating the purpose of his/her visit and the Department(s) where he/she wishes to spend the Scholarship
  2. C.V.
  3. Letter of recommendation from the Sponsor (EURAPS Full Member) illustrating the choice of candidate.
  4. If the candidates program director is not a EURAPS member and additional letter of support from the program director will be required.

Selection

The Scholarship and Awards Committee will consider and select the most worthy applications.

Conditions

  • Scholarships must be completed by the end of the following year and must be undertaken at a European department of plastic surgery or at a centre run by an active EURAPS member, as listed in the official Institutions directory.
  • All recipients are required to attend the EURAPS Annual Meeting in the year of their nomination, as the scholarships will be officially awarded during the opening ceremony. Scholarships are available for either one month (€ 1,500) or three months (€ 3,500). The first half of the allowance will be paid prior to the start of the scholarship, while the remaining balance will be released upon submission of a report (formatted according to the EURAPS template) co-signed by the host of the Institute and sent to the Chair of the Scholarship Committee and the EURAPS Secretary General at the conclusion of the visit.
  • All candidates must deliver a 4-minute presentation on their educational experience during the ERC Scholarship Session session of the next ERC and EURAPS meeting. This presentation is another required condition for receiving the remaining balance of the scholarship.
  • If any of the above requirements are not fulfilled, the scholarship, or the remaining portion of the stipend, will not be paid.
