Eric Auclair, passed away November 4, 2023 at the age of 66 due to heart failure.
Although he wanted to become an architect, personal circumstances, the sudden death of his father, a doctor, when he was 17 years of age, a family tradition that committed him to take over, and friends who were already enrolled in the faculty, influenced him unconsciously to choose medicine.
Eric got his plastic surgical training at the Hospital Boucicaut, in Paris, France. He was influenced during his training by several exceptional surgeons as Raymond Vilain, Daniel Marchac and Vladimir Mitz.
In later years, working in his own clinic in Paris, he became known for his “step facelift” surgical technique and the invention of composite breast augmentation, the idea of adding fat to the implant.
In 2012 he was acting as President of the French Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SOFCPRE) and was for many years a respected member of the European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS).
His too early passing leaves his family, friends and colleagues with sadness.
