Invitation to the 1st EURAPS Research Council Meeting (former ECSAPS)

Dear colleague, dear friend,

as indicated before the former annual ECSAPS Meeting has been organized now as the 1st EURAPS Research Council Meeting just before and overlapping with the 23rd EURAPS Annual Meeting in Munich. Hans Guenther Machens as the Chair of the EURAPS Research Council 2012, and his team took over the difficult task to organize the first Research Council only a half year instead of one year after the last ECSAPS Meeting in Pamplona. In Pamplona Bernardo Hontanilla did a great job in organizing an excellent ECSAPS Meeting, where we have got several opportunities to discuss about and to work on the changes of the “research wing of EURAPS”. There we also evaluated all presentations for the best six, which will be presented in final and updated fashion as part of the first Scientific Session (Research) at the EURAPS Annual Meeting in Munich, at Thursday afternoon (May 24th, 2012), together with the research papers elected for the program of the EURAPS Annual Meeting, May 24-26, 2012 .

Both meetings at the same time and at the same place will give the possibility to the research people to stay also for the EURAPS Annual Meeting and to realize the clinical impact of their research and get ideas for further clinically relevant research. Further on, the participants of the EURAPS Annual Meeting might be also interested to observe , what is going on in basic research in more detail and will come earlier to attend the EURAPS Research Council Meeting too. By this exchange we expect very positive impulses to keep plastic surgery as an academic medical discipline.

Please, stimulate your co-workers and interested basic scientists to attend this meeting and to submit their abstract in time! Registration for the meeting and submission of abstracts is also by the website of the EURAPS Research Council.
